Tarique Cooper
Christian/Gospel Singer
Student/Mona University
major/Guidance Counselor

Currently working on the gospel song: "Call me to the alter". The Rhythm is completed and we did one studio voicing which you can hear now, just go to the music video department.
The finally product will be completed before the summer of 2010.
Tarique is now attending
Mico University College, Kingston Jamaica W.I.
This song is called -- CALL ME TO THE ALTER. The song is copyright2008/PoshEntertainmentPublishing. The video for this song to be filmed in a year.
I wrote this song because of what I see and feel in the society today. To the alter does not mean to be religiously attached; but to be spiritually divine. To the alter means to get real true help.

Chorus
Call me, To the alter;
I’m confused, and lost.
Can’t you see, The world is in hell
I’m crying call me,
Call me, To the alter
Where my problems, Are in your care
Can’t you see, The world is in hell
I’m crying call me

I’m despaired, From a world, Gone wild,
I can be killed, Drawn to steal, I see no man.
In my heart, Mmmmm, The soul
The journey is full with fear, and lay in darkness.
Pasters guilt, In Jesus forgiveness,
lies the answer.

Repeat Chorus

I fight so much, With my life, It’s a war
Why am I TEMTIED, The field is empty,
Lazed with bombs
I’m surrounded and protected
In Jesus arms,
My worldly possessions, Are only Idling
They are not to be worship.

Repeat Chorus

artist

Tarique Cooper in Youth Parliament
Nov 2009
.

Tarique started singing from as early as he can remember. He grew up in Pigeon Valley in upper St. Andrew, where he would climb a mango tree and sing night and day, rain or shine. It is said by the elders of the community; that it was the same tree that Mr. Vegas started singing in when he had lived at the same house. Tarique became known asa singa in the community as a result of his singing. He went on to sing at birthday parties, community events and of course at church. He later song on the school and church choirs before moving to Stony Hill where he attended the Carpenters Memorial UB Church. He song on the Youth Chorate and a boys singing group. Currently Tarique is the praise and worship leader at his church, where he also sings at church conferences, crusades and christian functions. While at Carpentors Memorial UB Church, a church brother approached him with a song to sing. Surprisingly, he was in the studio for the first time, only 3 days later recording the song, which was entered in the JCDC Gospel Song Competition Spring 2008. The experience was enlightening and overwhelmine. It continues with the ambition of is first and new single: "Call me to the alter". The album is in production hoping to be release by Summer 2011.
